Set in the US during the idyllic 1950s, Dead Block takes players to a simpler time when a gallon of gas cost a few pennies, the “golden age” of cinema was in full swing, and that new (and apparently insanely evil) craze called rock n’ roll swept the nation—and caused an apocalyptic musical plague to turn the deceased into the walking dead!
As one of three survivors of the shuffling zombie onslaught – Boy Scout Mike Bacon, construction worker Jack Foster, and no-nonsense meter maid Foxy Jones, each with their own unique “Smart Bomb” attack – players will fortify their area by boarding up windows and setting a variety of unique unlockable traps, collect items and power-ups, take on zombies one-on-many with a variety of upgradeable weapons, and even rock them to shreds with awesome guitar power!
Dead Block screenshot * A humoristic gameplay mix of killing zombies and tactical defense.
* Kill zombies in unusual and entertaining ways: install unique traps, employ devious tactics and fight the intruders with smart bombs and melee weapons.
* Tactical defense gameplay: defend from zombies by building blockades, gathering resources and switching between all 3 characters.

You are accompanied by Sidonus and Leandros for most of the missions, though in some instances you will have to go on solo missions. The game features a campaign that can be played alone or cooperatively with one other local player via split-screen. The co-op version of the game enables players to play as both John Connor and his teammate Blair Williams.

The game employs a cover and movement system not unlike those featured in Gears of War and Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, wherein the player can quickly choose to dodge between different forms of cover, coming out only to fire shots at enemies. Staying in cover is advantageous, as the player only regenerates health when they have not received damage for a certain amount of time (as in the Halo and Call of Duty games). Although players initially are only equipped with an M4 carbine, other weapons such as the RPG-7 and M79 grenade launcher, Remington 870 shotgun, and M249 SAW as well as various types of grenades (Flash and fragmentation) are acquired throughout the game.

Enemy A.I. is relatively strong, both keeping track of the player’s location realistically (that is, not omniscient but using sight and sound to locate the player) as well as actively pursing and flanking them when cover is sought by the player.

Wolverine will pick himself up off the ground only to discover he is surrounded. It’s now up to you to fight you way out of it. You’ll need to defend yourself from the local Soldiers and Machete Warriors. Soldiers tend to try to keep their distance from you and shoot Wolverine from afar. Lunge attacks works well against them as you can get in close real fast. Be careful, because Machete Warriors will lunge at you. These melee foes can be Counter Attacked by tapping the Block button just before they land a hit. If you do this successfully, time will slow down. When this happens quickly tap an attack button to perform a Counter Attack. Get a feel for the controls and combat and you clear this area of foes.

During this first battle, your enemies will open the gate for you. Finish killing them off then proceed up the trail past the gate. You’ll approach a small waterfall at the top of the hill. Walk behind it and pick up the Dog Tag. These are hidden throughout the game and can give you Experience Points for collecting them.

Continue along the trail and you’ll need to lock onto an enemy across a gap and Lunge at him. Proceed up the trail to the lookout point then Lunge at one of the enemies below. Take out the enemies here then climb the cliff face and rope to reach the top of this small hill. Run straight ahead to avoid taking too much damage from the enemies at the opposite end of this trail. Kill them then approach the broken bridge. A helicopter will rise into view. When it does, Lunge to it. Climb up onto the front of the chopper and punch out the window and then kill the pilot. This will “defeat” the chopper and get you to the temple across the chasm.

Enter the temple and drop into the pit to be introduced to the Machete Champion. They are pretty much as same as the Warriors except when they do they jumping attack the hit with an explosion of fire which is dangerous. You want to Dodge this attack as best you ca and kill this foe quickly. Look for and Environmental Kill using your Feral Senses. Hack your way through the Machete Warriors that appear then look to the right hand side of the room using your Feral Senses to find a Dog Tag before going on. Jump up to the ledge behind where the Soldiers appear through a small doorway. Climb up and follow this path outside to a bridge.
Run across the bridge and then Lunge across the hole. After a brief scene you’ll end up clinging to the bridge which is now hanging vertically down a cliff. Climb upwards using your claws and pull each enemy down by tapping the Grab button when you near them. At the top, follow the trail around to another lookout point and a cable that runs down to it. Jump up and grab onto the cable and you’ll slide down to the gate below. You can’t open the gate yourself, you’ll need something to help you. Follow the path up the steep hill. Take out the enemies you encounter at the top of this hill and then grab the Dog Tag off the dead soldier behind the explosive barrels. Stand behind the truck nearby and push it down the hill.

Once you’ve successfully busted down the gate with the truck you’ll need to go to quick work wiping the area clear of enemies. Lunge around to pick off the Soldiers hiding out on the ledges taking shots at you. After that, go to work on all the enemies in the middle. Eventually the other gate will open to allow you to proceed up another path. Climb the wall at the end with your claws then drop down into the next area and start taking fools out. Be sure to check behind you to see the boarded up doorway. Smash these planks to reveal a hidden area. Go to the back of this area to find the Mysterious Hatch which unlocks the Found! Achievement/Trophy. As you leave this hidden area, look to the right to find other Dog Tag.

Leave this hidden area the way you entered then jump onto the rocks to the back of the next to climb around the locked gate. Drop down the other side and before proceeding up the path, turn around and grab the Dog Tag lying next to the large gate you passed. Now proceed up the path. At the top of the hill you’ll find some ruins. Break your way through the wooden woods covering the doorway and you’ll find a Classic Wolverine Figurine inside. Step back outside and go around to the right of the ruins. Follow this trail around until you see a lone Soldier sitting with his back to you on top of some ruins. Smash through the wooden doorway to the right and then jump and cling onto the ledge along the left wall. Shimmy to the left just behind the Soldier to trigger a short scene.
After the brief talk with Striker, follow the path around to find a crank. Tap the Grab button to turn the crank which will raise a gate for you. You’ll need to run and perform a Dodge to make it through the gate before it closes. You’ll now find yourself in a courtyard-like area. Quickly take out the Soldiers here before engaging the Machete Warriors. After you’ve killed all the warriors, be ready for the Machete Champion that appears. Take him out then climb the rope on the left side of this courtyard (use your Feral Senses if you need help spotting it). At the top of the rope, jump to the ledge to the left and collect the Dog Tag. Now jump back to the rope and proceed in the opposite direction by jumping and climbing other platforms and ropes.

Drop into the open portion of the corridors below after you jump to the last platform. On the ground to the right you’ll find another Dog Tag leaning against the massive wooden doors. Fight your way through here then climb the rope at the end. Follow this corridor around to a ledge way you can Lunge at a Soldier on a distant platform. Make your way down this path and you’ll encounter another Machete Champion. Once you’ve defeated him, make your way past this area to find a small staircase. Along the left you’ll see another Dog Tag to be collected. Drop into an area with a gate opener but no crank. Head down the near by bridge and you’ll find the crank at the dead end. Head back to the gate opener with the crank. You’ll need to take out some Machete Warriors on your way back. Insert the crank into the opener and turn it. Once the gate is fully opened, run and roll through it before the gate closes.

In this next open area you’ll be introduced to a Leviathan. These giant rock creatures will appear throughout the game. Know that for the first half of their health meter, they can me attack by basic attacks from the ground. However, halfway through their live and they’ll add more rock armor to their body making it impossibly to damage them from the ground. You need to get onto its shoulder. Do not Lunge straight at a Leviathan, it’ll smack you out of the air. Instead, wait for it to attack then roll around behind it and then Lunge at it. This will put you in prime position to hack at its one crack in the armor. Repeat this until until you’ve taken away all its health then pull its head off by tapping the Light Attack button.
After you defeat the Leviathan, turn around and face the temple you just came out of. Go to the right and push this statue back to reveal the dead soldier for you to collect the Dog Tag from. Now go to the opposite side and pull the statue out here and then jump on top of it and then to the wall above where you can wall climb with your claws. Climb up to the balcony above then break through the stone door with cracks in it. Down this dead end you’ll find another Dog Tag. Back out on the balcony, lunge at the Soldier on the opposite platform. From here, jump up and grab onto the rope so you slide down to the riverbank.
Kill the Machete Champion here then run out to the end of the dock. Wait for a boat to speed close by then Lunge at one of the Soldiers to get onto the boat. Kill the other enemies then Lunge to the next one and repeat. You’ll soon be in control of a turret gun. Use the gun to shoot the attacking boats. Focus on one at a time and just keep hitting it until it explodes. Once the first two have been destroyed three more will appear. Again, just worry about one at a time. Here, Malik proposes that he is fighting a losing battle, and needs to rely on a last resort or be forced to retreat. The Prince strongly objects, but Malik refuses to listen to him, and, releases Solomon’s Army using a magical seal. Solomon’s Army is an assortment of different creatures, all made of sand, supposedly enough to outnumber the grains of sand in the desert. The Prince and Malik both manage to obtain halves of the seal which was used to unleash the army, protecting them from being turned into sand statues, which was the fate of the rest of the kingdom. The seals also allow them to absorb the power of the enemies they defeat.

Malik is separated from the Prince, who finds a portal to the domain of Razia, a Djinn. Razia tells the Prince that the Solomon’s army was not Solomon’s, but was an army sent to kill him. She tells him the only way to re-imprison Solomon’s Army is to reunite both halves of the seal used to bind them. Razia gives the Prince special powers, and has him set out to find Malik, and the other half of the seal. When the Prince finds Malik, he isn’t interested in stopping the Army of Solomon, but instead wants to destroy it and use its power to become a more powerful leader. The Prince finds Razia again, and asks her about this, and she proposes it’s an effect of absorbing too much of the power of Solomon’s Army, and that the power she gave the Prince offered him protection from this effect.

The Prince again sets out to find Malik, this time to forcibly take his half of the seal, but Malik is stronger and manages to escape. Pursuing Malik again, the Prince finds Ratash, the leader of Solomon’s Army, pursuing anyone in possession of the seal. After the Prince outruns him, he concludes Ratash must now be chasing Malik, and so sets out to aid him. The Prince arrives in the throne room to find Malik and Ratash fighting, and he aids Malik. The Prince and Malik seem to kill Ratash, and Malik absorbs his power, shattering his half of the seal. Malik then runs off, seemingly in a hysterical fit, using some of Ratash’s powers to escape.

The Prince pursues him, and again finds Razia instead. Razia explains that Ratash cannot be killed by any ordinary sword, and that what actually happened was quite different than what the Prince saw. Ratash has actually killed Malik, and possessed his body. The Prince doesn’t believe this, and sets out to find the Djinn Sword, which Razia says can kill Ratash.

Along the way, the Prince chases Ratash, witnessing Ratash gaining so much power back, that he can mutate Malik’s body back to his original form. The Prince loses a battle to Ratash, and the Prince is convinced that his brother is in fact dead now. Then when he meets Razia once again, he starts questioning her intentions and asks her why she cares for Malik’s kingdom and why she did not kill Ratash herself. Razia says she has “a part to play”. She, then, eventually reveals that she was once one of the four leaders of Djinns and did not leave the city as the other Djinns had because she promised to King Solomon she would take care of the his kingdom to the best of her ability. When Prince finds the Djinn Sword, he takes it to Razia, who holds it in her hand and disappears into it. When the startled Prince calls out her name, she speaks to him from the sword and explains that to kill a Djinn the magic of an other Djinn is reqiured and this is her “part to play”. Then Prince asks her what will happen to her after killing Ratash with the sword, she answers, “We will see”. With this sword, the Prince again sets out to find Ratash. When he does, Ratash is now gigantic, literally fed by the sandstorm which has come over the palace.

Despite this, the Prince uses the sword to kill Ratash, and when the sandstorm and battle both subside, he finds Malik laying next to him, dying. Malik says to tell their father that Prince will be a mighty leader, then dies. There are also shots in the game, showing that the people, who were turned into sand, are reverted back into their normal selves. The Prince then sets out to inform his father of Malik’s death.

In a post-credits narration, the Prince finds the Djinn sword and calls Razia’s name but to no answer, so he decides to return the sword to where he found it, so to lay Razia to rest and as he could no longer bear to hold the sword, and then with Malik’s kingdom under Malik’s advisors’ rule, the Prince leaves to inform his father of his brother’s death

When Spider-Man arrives, the Triskelion is already under Carnage’s control. Spider-Man stops Carnage before he can infect others. After Carnage is defeated, Spider-Man claims his fragment.

When all of the tablet fragments are reassembled, Mysterio uses the tablet to increase his power, effectively becoming a god and shattering all the borders separating the other realities, planning to build a new one under his sole rule. Amazing Spider-Man and the other Spider-Men, who were teleported to their location by Madame Web, defeat Mysterio and separate him from the tablet. As Mysterio tries to reclaim the Tablet of Order and Chaos, the Spider-Men knock him out. Madame Web then thanks them for saving all of reality. After the others return to their own dimensions and the walls between them repaired, Amazing Spider-Man takes Mysterio to jail.

Takeuchi revealed that there would be a lot more co-op based VSs.[7] Players will be able to ride on the sides of some VSs. These VSs can be controlled by one player, while two others hang on by the sides and shoot. Takeuchi also revealed that there would be flying VSs which feature unlimited flying time.[7]
Also unlike Lost Planet, Lost Planet 2 will not constantly drain players of thermal energy. This is due to the warmer climate, which can sustain T-ENG presence longer than a cold climate, which drains thermal energy bit by bit. Instead, energy can only be drained when the player pilots a VS and uses a weapon that requires energy. However thermal energy is still constantly lost unless a specific ability is equipped despite the ‘warmer climate’. The character may also lose thermal energy by completing one entire sprint with a character (confirmed in the demo). If one player loses all their energy, another can give them some of their energy, using a new weapon, to keep players alive.[8]
Kenji Orguro and Jun Takeuchi announced that the game would reward players with experience points. Players will earn more points for playing in a unique manner and completing extra objectives in missions. Once the game has been beaten on any difficulty, players are allowed to use this character for the campaign.[9] These points can then be used to unlock costumes and attachments for the player to customize their Pirate.

They can pick up weapons lying on the ground and fire multiple weapons at once. On foot, players are able to use a grappling hook to pull themselves up to normally hard-to-reach places, or to hook onto a VS and hijack it. Driving VSs and using certain weapons requires thermal energy. Also, the planet’s cold temperature causes the characters’ thermal energy level to continually decrease. Players can replenish their thermal energy level by defeating enemies or activating data posts. Data posts also allow players to use their navigational radars to see incoming enemies. Each of the 11 levels is accompanied by a boss, which can be either a VS or a large Akrid.
Online multiplayer versus also requires players to monitor their thermal energy level, but here, reaching zero does not cause death. Instead, the characters cannot use VSs or fire the weapons which require thermal energy. Online multiplayer versus consists of four modes, called Elimination, Team Elimination, Post Grab, and Fugitive. Players score points by killing other players and activating posts, and they lose points for being killed or committing suicide. Post grab is a mode where players on opposite teams compete to capture as many posts as possible before the set time runs out. Team-Elimination is a 16-player team competition, and Elimination is a 16-player free-for-all mode. Finally, Fugitive is a game mode where one person is marked as a fugitive, and the other players try to take away all the fugitive’s points before time runs out.
